DALAI LAMA
The MESSAGE:
“More compassionate mind, more sense of concern for other's well-being, is source of happiness,” he said during a rare interview with “Politics Confidential” when asked how to sum up his philosophy for happiness in the form ;of a tweet.
Self-centered attitudes, he said, are at the root of unhappiness and human suffering.
“Too much self-centered attitude, you see, brings, you see, isolation,” he said. “Result: loneliness, fear, anger. The extreme self-centered attitude is the source of suffering.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.
It’s been 54 years since the Dalai Lama – escaping persecution by the Chinese government—fled from his native country of Tibet for India, where he still lives today in exile. There is still no sign that the Chinese government will grant a level of autonomy to Tibet, let alone independence. And President Obama reiterated in a statement following a meeting with the Dalai Lama on Friday that “the United States does not support Tibet independence” and recognizes Tibet as part of China. Still, the Dalai Lama remains eternally optimistic on the topic.
Some officials in the Chinese government have characterized the Dalai Lama as “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” and one even called him a “demon.” But he merely laughs off such remarks: “Let them say whatever they like; the reality is reality.”
“Sometime a few years ago, some Chinese official described me as a demon. Then, you see, some reporter ask me, ‘what's my comment?’ Then I usually respond, ‘yes, I'm a demon with horns,” he said, moving his hands to look like horns on top of his head and laughing.
The Chinese government has also claimed that they will determine who will be the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, a process which is traditionally determined by certain religious leaders within the Buddhist religion.
The Dalai Lama, who is now 78 years old and still appears to be in good health, has a different plan for succession.
“The Tibetan people will need to determine who the next reincarnation of the Dalai Lama is,” he said and added that it’s possible that the Tibetan people could decide that he is the last Dalai Lama and determine that the institution is “no longer relevant.” So long as it is the Tibetan people’s decision, he said, “I’m happy.”
“Sometimes I, jokingly, say … ‘I think, at least, six centuries, the history of Dalai Lama institution, ended with present Dalai Lama -- quite popular!’” he said with laugh.
He also said that it’s “very possible” that the next Dalai Lama, if there is another reincarnation, could be a woman. He notes that women, biologically, are more sensitive to other’s suffering; and for that reason, it may be more useful under some circumstances to have a female Dalai Lama.
On the topic of stress and frustration, he said he’s “always relaxed” but admitted that “sometimes, little irritation comes” during delayed flights of his extensive international travel.
He recalled one occasion when he lost his temper with a reporter.
“One lady [in] our interview, and she ask me, ‘what you want legacy?’ And then I told, no, I'm Buddhist monk, Buddhist practitioner, should not think about my name, these things,” he recalled, and explained that the reporter went on to ask the same question again three times.
“Then, I lost my temper,” he said with another laugh.
To find out if the Dalai Lama actually golfs as is portrayed in the popular movie “Caddyshack,” check out this episode of “Politics Confidential.”
WHY IS THERE SUFFERING?
CONSIDER THIS...
''If It's All About LOVE,
Why Do We SUFFER?''
---Love---
---The ''HIGHEST'' or Best communication is the communication of LOVE. It is the best of you. It can translate into ACCEPTANCE for you. It is the best one can do. But this still leaves much open to interpretation.
.
---Understand This and You Are Understanding Much.
- We are attached to things that help us to SAVE FACE.
- We are worried about ''Looking Good,'' instead of ''BEING LOVING'' and ''Honest.''
---We have many different ways that we ''think'' LOVE is. Through my own interpretation, I see LOVE is one where you, yourself, becomes an ''environment'' of self-expression for the ''other,'' person. ACCEPTANCE. He or she is free to express himself until he ''sees'' himself behind the different ''masks'' that he or she wears, being sure NO one is hurt in the process. He or she will see the LOVE that is there, as that is truly the ''fabric'' that makes us up.
- We ALL Love One Another, We're Just Working On The Details.
- We Suffer When We Hold On To Our False Sense of Self.
- We Must Let Go and Grow
- Why are innocent children involved
- Holding on to what we don't need - causes problems
---Our perspective is very important. If we see the situation as LOVE, then things we DON'T need, just fall away. There is a problem when we try to HOLD ON, while things we don't need, fall away. We try to HOLD ON to things that time is telling us to give up and let go. In psychological terms, we are giving up personality defense mechanisms that we don't need anymore. It is really FEAR that holds this falseness, in place.
---The letting go is accomplished through LOVE, or we can see it as Suffering, depending on our ''perspective.'' If we truly LOVE, then the falseness just falls away. If we HOLD on to our FALSENESS, then it is seemingly ''Ripped'' away, and a SUFFERING prevales. As we learn to ''let-go,'' [become more OBJECTIVE], this ''SUFFERING'' becomes less and less. Be Well.
HEALTHY -- ''Big Picture''
CONSIDER THIS...
The ''PSYCHOSOMATIC'' Component
---I believe that thought and what we ''think,'' is at the core of a lot we find wrong with ourselves. It isn't like the hypochondriac who reads his own symptoms and decides that he has ''this'' or ''that.'' It goes to the next level where ''thinking'' negative thoughts doesn't help the illness one bit.
---Ralph Waldo Emerson said, ''We are what we think all day long.'' If we keep so much negative energy coming into the system, it can't be good. The reason I say this is that the system responds positively to positive stimulus. Keep it a positive experience. Negativity goes ''against the grain.''
---If we have an attitude of ''goodwill'' for ALL. If we want the ''best'' for everyone, if we are concerned with making a positive mark on our neighbor and the world, we are also making a positive mark on ourselves. This is the repercussions of doing ''good-type works'' and having ''good thoughts.'' You find that you stay positive, and find ''yourself'' unfolding.
---We die daily this way. Eventually, we see the ''Big PIcture.'' We see that being positive really is the way to be. You ''feel'' better and ''are'' better. When you have a ''fun'' outlook, you ''are'' happier. To a trained professional, the simplicity of what I say may sound like ''wishful'' thinking, but the latest liturature bears this out. Look at the havoc that ''stress'' wreaks.
---When we have a ''Big Picture'' that is Healthy, Non-judgmental and Positive, we are, for all-intents-and-purposes, ready for just about anything. We enjoy waking up in the morning. We are all set to begin the day. We even look forward to the challenges that Life has in store for us. We don't have to seek them out, they will find us if we have some business to do, today.
---Enjoy the day the ''best'' you can. Use your head and common sense. It really doesn't make sense not to. Be sure someone else has a good day, too. Don't be petty. Open up. Show the world it is ALL good. DO the ''best'' you can. Be Well.
WHY DO PEOPLE SUFFER?
CONSIDER THIS...''WHY DO PEOPLE SUFFER?''
(L ong Version)
---People Suffer to the extent they are attached. This is a statement Buddha made, in one of His teachings, many years ago. Let's look at this more closely. What are people attached to?
---We see people attached to their ''idea'' of who they are and don't seem to go too far beyond that. We see people much into their own ''Self-image,'' instead of seeing who they are. They spend much time competing and comparing themselves to others, checking how they are doing. The Truth of the matter is that that is where most people stop. People seem satisfied with this. What they don't really seek is what may be possible for them.
---Believe in Yourself, Enough, To Take-A-Chance on...Yourself.
---People easily become complacent, and taking a risk, or exploring is ''someone elses job,'' and not mine. The fact is that people become hum-drum, and get used to it. Somehow, they call this ''Living.'' Anyone saying unlimited potential and possibilities, is laughed at almost before they start.
---One has to exercise ones ability to access the Love Energy that is within. One has to get to know what ''IT'' is and one's particular Relationship to ''IT.'' One discovers himself and where and what is his interest. Everyone is different, so my interests may not be yours. We prefer different things, resonate differently and we understand how ''another mans meat can be another mans poison.'' As it says.''we have the same emotions over different things.''
---The ''Trick'' To It All Is To Find What You Enjoy.
---The trick to it all is to find what you enjoy doing and do it. Here we see the problem to be in the discovering what one likes or enjoys. It doesn't usually jump out at you unless you know how to discover how you ''feel'' in the first place. This comes down to actually telling yourself how you ''Honestly'' feel about things. Until one gets the hang of this, it will probably be depraved and despicable. Do NOT act on it, but be honest. Eventually you will feel your ''sea legs'' growing and be much stronger and more comfortable because of it. Remember, we should NOT act on these things. We are letting the ''mud'' we have churned up, become settled. We then, after a time, can see clearly and then it will be time to express what you may have learned. You have given yourself time to ''embody'' this newness.
---When one does what he truly likes to do, one unfolds naturally. The object of affection does pretty well, also. One knows when it is time to move on. If one is attached to doing ''good'' things to make himself look better, do thIngs of the EGO so as to impress others, he will find himself pretty empty and real happiness will elude him. This is the way we are attached to things of the EGO. We suffer as we try to live with these circumstances.
---Suffering is Boredom and Complacency.
---The Suffering comes in the boredom and complacency and frustration. Yes, this is a suffering. We are not very energetic or enthusiastic, but we should be. I mean that we lack the ability to access the passion within. It is there, but we don't know how to and we don't really utilize it. When we spend it or express it, it is sometimes very negatively and guiltily, and it conflicts with many shoulds and shouldn'ts, so instead of clearly expressing what is within, it sounds like some kind of ''confusion.''
---Getting to know how we feel about things increases our awareness of the self. It helps us deal with the ''Stranger in a strange land'' kind of feeling. It increases our ability to spend time alone, without having to deal with a nagging loneliness. We understand what is meant by the phrase, ''Making friends with yourself.'' It all begins by knowing how we feel.
---In our society, their seem to be many who don't know how they ''feel'' about things. Guys, in particular, seem to have trouble knowing or showing how
they feel. From day one, we, guys, learn how not to show any emotion and to keep it ALL inside. This isn't very healthy as it ''eats at us from within.''
---Women, who statistically outlive guys on the other hand, don't seem to have as much of a hard time with this. They can be emotional wrecks, but generally they ''get it out.'' I realize that stereotypes come into play, and I am also aware of what I have previously written.
---The Male-side of the brain seems to be the ''Left,'' and the Female-side seems to be the ''Right.'' When the two are in ''harmony,'' we have an as-it-should-be situation, that is very ''peaceful.'' Things unfold deliberately and easily, with NO worry or guilt. Life happens ''as-it-should.'' the ''suffering'' is non-existent, and we ''feel'' free to enjoy.
---Until this is Realized and Embodied, we Love imperfectly, as it were, with ALL the jealousies, prides, etc., that go along with the ''Human'' psyche. These are the ''imperfections'' we contend with. These are the things that make up our self-image, and somehow we think that they are so important that we HOLD-ON to them as they are falling away, SUFFERING in the process. As we grow and mature into the understanding of ''How Love Works,'' we don't HOLD-ON as tightly and SUFFER less and less. Be Well.
FINDING: ''Your Own Voice''
THREE OF ME...''Telling Yourself TRUTH''
---Becomes Habit, HONEST---
---One finds his own voice by telling the truth to himself. It is that simple. What if you don't know the truth, what does one do then?
---One tells himself the truth about how he feels. He tells himself how he feels about things. But to find his own voice, it must be the ''truth.'' You can't fool your true feelings. This is how one finds his own voice. Until then, even without knowing it, you are telling us someone else's opinion. It is someone else's truth. It belongs to someone else. You have yet to make it your own. You can ''feel'' like someone else, but until you ''embody'' it, it is not yet yours. It is not yet true for you.
---A point of confusion can be that there are personal, relative truths and Truths we share. A personal truth could be, ''I like to eat vegetables with my fish.'' It is more in the preference category. A Truth we share could be, ''It is about Love and Forgiveness.'' Get to know the difference. One's own voice has conviction and you don't hear the doubt. It does happen that the more one tells the truth to oneself, that it does become more and more habit-forming.
.
---Know Yourself---
---A Word of Caution: Get to know ''Yourself'' and how you feel about things, FIRST. ''Don't'' start by telling everyone ''how you feel about everything.'' You will probably hurt a lot of feelings and you will just be ''shooting your mouth off.'' Communicate Honest things about You and NOT Them. If the fact is that you want to ''BLAME'' someone for your situaion, it is really Your fault and not theirs, anyway. This will be clearer, eventually.
---This is what I have noticed. If you are saying things that are true and
true for you and how you feel, it does not matter where they came from, as long as they are true for you. One's voice actually improves and has more conviction. As the song goes, ''The Nearer your Destination, the More you Slip Slide Away.'' Each time you get closer and closer to the truth. Eventually, you begin ''Speaking the Truth'' and It pulls you along with It. You have then found ''Your Own Voice''- and that is the goal. Be Well.
MINDFREAKED!!
MINDFREAKED
CRISS ANGEL
---I went to YouTube, where I have gone many times before. I had been recently finding that many things of my past, have now made it to there.
---The philosophers of our time have been a focus. Then, some ROCK N’ ROLL songs. There has been quite a treasure trove.
---I then typed in a name I had heard, just to see if anything would happen. That is how I had found the Criss Angel vids.
---I saw Criss float between two buildings. I saw Criss walk on water. I saw other astounding things. I am NOT kidding I am Mindfreaked.
---I have NO idea how some of these stunts were done. I will not attempt to explain any of that, because I do not know. But I think I get why the word, ‘’MINDFREAK,’’ was chosen.
---There is a quality that I experienced that is supposed to be like a Zen Koan. My mind could NOT understand these vids. I tried to wrap my mind around the vids, every which way, and they were always ‘’beyond’’ me.
---I could go on and on, with how the vids impacted me. They may ALL be smoke and mirrors. I don’t HONESTLY know, how some of these were done. MINDFREAKED.
.
Over Time, I Think I Know How Some Of What He Did, Was Done. Even So, My Hat Is Off For Him. These Are GREAT!!
